What are money scripts?
Money scripts are the unconscious beliefs about money that were formed early in life and continue to shape financial behaviour as adults. The term was developed by financial psychologists Brad and Ted Klontz. Most people are not aware of their money scripts because they feel like facts rather than beliefs.
Common examples: "Money is the root of all evil." "Rich people are greedy." "If I had more money, everything would be better." "Talking about money is rude." These beliefs influence saving, spending, risk tolerance, and even career decisions in ways that are hard to trace back to their origin.
