This policy explains what information Savings Roast collects when you use the site at savingsroast.com, how it is used, and what choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at hello@savingsroast.com.
The short version
The savings, spending, and income figures you enter into the calculator are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to our servers, stored in a database, or shared with anyone. We do not run our own analytics on visitor behaviour.
We do display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show personalised ads based on your browsing history. This is explained in full below.
What data we collect
Financial inputs: none. The numbers you enter into the calculator are used only to run the calculation locally in your browser via JavaScript. They are never transmitted to any server.
Usage analytics: none collected by us. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any analytics platform. We do not place tracking cookies of our own.
Contact enquiries. If you email us at hello@savingsroast.com, we receive and store your email address and message content in order to respond. We do not share this information with third parties.
Google AdSense and advertising
This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. As part of serving these ads, Google may:
- Place cookies on your device to recognise your browser across visits
- Use your browsing history and interests to show you relevant ads (interest-based advertising)
- Collect data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited
We do not control which ads Google serves or how Google uses data collected through AdSense. Google’s use of advertising data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Opting out. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from Google by visiting google.com/settings/ads. You can also opt out of third-party interest-based advertising more broadly via aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK).
Other third-party services
- Netlify: hosts and delivers the website. Netlify collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of normal web hosting and security. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: the Inter typeface is loaded from Google’s servers. Your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies
We do not set any first-party cookies. Cookies may be placed on your device by:
- Google AdSense: for ad personalisation and measurement (see above)
- Cloudflare: for security and bot detection
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the display of personalised advertising.
Children’s privacy
Savings Roast is a general-purpose financial estimation tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled, we will update this policy before those features go live and note the change date at the top of this page.
