This policy explains what information Savings Roast collects when you use the site at savingsroast.com, how it is used, and what choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at hello@savingsroast.com.
The short version
The savings, spending, and income figures you enter into the calculator are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to our servers, stored in a database, or shared with anyone. We do use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall site usage, but analytics cookies remain switched off at all times regardless of your cookie choice, so it does not build a profile of you across visits. See below for details.
Savings Roast does not currently display any advertisements. Savings Roast may display ads in the future through Google AdSense or another advertising provider. If ads are added, this policy will be updated to explain how advertising cookies and third-party ad technology are used.
What data we collect
Financial inputs: none. The numbers you enter into the calculator are used only to run the calculation locally in your browser via JavaScript. They are never transmitted to any server.
Usage analytics: Google Analytics 4, with analytics cookies switched off. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which pages and tools get used, so we can prioritise fixes and new content. Under Google's Consent Mode, analytics_storage stays denied at all times, regardless of whether you accept or reject cookies, so GA4 does not set its usual tracking cookies (such as _ga) or build a persistent cross-visit profile of you. GA4 does still receive anonymised pageview and interaction data (for example, which financial tier a calculation fell into, never the actual numbers you entered) and, like any request to Google's servers, your IP address and browser details as part of that request. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google processes this. We do not use Mixpanel or any other analytics platform, and we do not run any analytics of our own outside of GA4.
Contact enquiries. If you email us at hello@savingsroast.com, we receive and store your email address and message content in order to respond. We do not share this information with third parties.
Advertising
Savings Roast does not currently run any advertisements or serve any ad-related cookies. Savings Roast may display ads in the future through Google AdSense or another advertising provider. If ads are added, Google AdSense or that provider may:
- Place cookies on your device to recognise your browser across visits
- Use your browsing history and interests to show you relevant ads (interest-based advertising)
- Collect data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited
If ads are added, this policy will be updated to explain how advertising cookies and third-party ad technology are used, and we will not control which ads are served or how the provider uses data collected through them. Google’s use of advertising data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Opting out. If ads are added, you will be able to opt out of interest-based advertising from Google by visiting google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of third-party interest-based advertising more broadly via aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK).
Other third-party services
- Cloudflare Pages: hosts and delivers the website. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of normal web hosting and security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4: see the Usage Analytics section above for how this is configured.
- Google Fonts: the Inter typeface is loaded from Google’s servers. Your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies
Because analytics cookie storage stays denied at all times (see above), Google Analytics 4 does not set its usual first-party analytics cookies on this site. Cookies or similar technology may still be placed on your device by:
- Google AdSense (future): not currently active; if ads are added, Google may place cookies for ad personalisation and measurement (see above)
- Cloudflare: for security and bot detection
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. If ads are added in the future, disabling cookies may affect the display of personalised advertising.
Children’s privacy
Savings Roast is a general-purpose financial estimation tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled, we will update this policy before those features go live and note the change date at the top of this page.
